Peak: Bondcliff
Trails: Lincoln Woods Trail, Bondcliff Trail
Mileage: 18.3
Elevation Gain: 3,136′
Weather: Clear skies, low wind with breezes about 8mph, 14(F) feels like single digits. The summit of Bondcliff was mostly windless for me fortunately.
Ground Conditions: LWT was essentially a flat icy highway, looked like plenty of skiers were out there logging a few miles today and I wish I brought mine! I wore snowshoes up the Bondcliff trail and was happy to have brought them out there since the snow was pretty soft. Specifically the upper portions of the trail nearing the last water crossing/after mile 7.5 was where I found the snow to be a little on the soft side. As long as you took careful steps, it was fine. Most of the other folks I saw out there were wearing snowshoes with one exception.
Notes: Great day to get out to Bondcliff. With the low winds at the summit, I really dilly dallied and took pictures for a good 20ish minutes. Saw some interesting tracks on the LWT pictured below. I met a hiker named Bob who was headed out toward Owl’s Head today as well as a few nice folks on the Bondcliff trail – one of them made his way over to Bond.

Finally used the remote control function on the Olympus! In the winter I have to keep my iphone 8 plugged into a power bank otherwise it likes to power off here and there.
