Peak: Tecumseh
Trails: Mt Tecumseh Trail
Mileage: 4.69
Elevation Gain: 2,257′
Weather: Pretty good visibility, 28(F), 87% humidity, 10MPH Winds.
Ground Conditions: After considering Tecumseh, we saw a few helpful trail reports written earlier this week. The current conditions were very closely aligned with earlier reports. We wore spikes car to car and saw a mix of light traction and snowshoes on other hikers. In terms of actual traction on the way up, I did not experience any slipping/sliding or even toes digging into the snow as long as I stayed thoughtful about my steps. I did see another hiker posthole up to their thigh when stepping off the trail. The times that I stepped aside for uphill traffic, I was able to take a few prep steps and create a small place to stand off trail without a dramatic posthole. Saw a few happy butt sliders out there having fun!
Notes: Straight forward trip out to Tecumseh. The presies were visible but difficult to capture in a photo. After getting home today, I realized Tecumseh was my 250th NH 4k summit overall! I look forward to more! We followed up the hike with a nice XC Ski session after and skied up the Livermore road. Conditions were optimal for a ski!
