Peak: Pierce
Trails: Crawford Connector, Crawford Path, Webster Cliff Trail
Mileage: 5.87
Elevation Gain: 2,381′
Weather: 83% Humidity. Cloudy & low visibility, 17(F), felt like single digits or close to zero at the summit with a gentle breeze. Periodic snow showers throughout the morning(Both on the drive up & throughout the hike).
Ground Conditions: Snow! Took out the snowshoes for a refresher on what it feels like to wear them, helped pack down the trail a bit, and they helped with floatation whenever passing folks and needed to get distanced off of the packed trail. Trail seemed fully broken out and there was plenty of new snow outside of the spots on Webster Cliff trail up to the summit where it was a little rockier. There aren’t too many post holes, but I did notice a few on the AT. Outside of the fresh layer of snow, there were some small isolated icy spots. Saw plenty of other people out there with snowshoes!
Notes: Not the clearest day out on pierce, but it was great to have a cold & snowy day for a snowshoe & XC Ski!
