Peak: Madison
Trails: Valley Way, AT/Osgood Trail
Mileage: 8
Elevation Gain: 4,044′
Weather: Overall really great conditions. Weather was about 28(F) at the trailhead and maybe a little lower with the winds at the Peak. Approaching the summit, I only noticed one major gust that kicked up a bunch of snow. Other than that, there was great visibility and an undercast.
Ground Conditions: The trail condition was consistent with other reports that I read through. There are a few sections where you may have more fun climbing up with snowshoes/televators, but light traction did the trick. After the hut, the trail is mixed rocks and snow, with a few deep drifts.
Notes: Great to get back out to Madison again – it’s been too long! Enjoyed the undercast conditions and a low headcount day on the trail!

Close up of Adams across the way.
Peeping over at Washington & Adams.
Looking north!
Unreal conditions for this hike!
Looking up at the Hut!
A pano including the Wildcats!
Near the hut!
